Each module is delivered by an experienced trainer or trainers who specialise in their respective areas of skills and knowledge.
The participants have the added benefit of meeting with each other regularly. This enables networking during the course itself and afterwards. This opportunity will add to their awareness and knowledge of other departments and spheres of operations, leading to more effective communication and better joined-up thinking across government and the wider public sector.
Assessment
Candidates will be asked to complete two written projects which will be assessed both internally and externally, to be awarded the certificate.
The first assessment will take place mid way through the course and will involve writing a short, 1500 word project of your choosing from 2 questions.
At the close of the course candidates will be expected to complete a further project also to be assessed internally and externally. This longer 4000 word project will test the learning and understanding that you have gained throughout the course. Please see below for submission dates for your series.
Successful candidates must complete both projects to the required standard in order to be awarded the certificate.
In addition to this formal assessment, we will ask candidates to complete a ‘diary’ entry at the close of each day. This should take no more then 3 – 5 minutes and should be completed sometime after each training day, preferably while the details are still fresh in your mind. This will be a form of continuous self assessment which is useful to tie the course in with your working life. By filling in the diary page, you will also be helping to clarify the most challenging issues you face in working life, and generating ideas you can use in the mid term exam and in the final assessment.
